Nickel-based superalloys refer to superalloys that use nickel as the matrix (generally greater than 50%) and have high strength and good oxidation resistance and gas corrosion resistance in the range of 650-1000 °C.
Nickel-based alloys are the most widely used and the highest high-temperature strength alloys among superalloys.
Nickel-based superalloys are classified into solid-solution-strengthened alloys and precipitation-strengthened alloys according to the strengthening method.
